Jill Henis

Dance Artist

“Your heart knows the way. Run in that direction” - Rumi

Allow me to introduce myself

My name is Jill, and like many dancers, I was captivated from a young age by the power and delight of movement. What began as twirling in my family’s living room soon became a lifelong inquiry into how the body listens, responds, and reveals. Over time, I’ve come to understand that dance is not about seeking answers, but about dwelling in the unknown — trusting the body as a vessel of presence, truth, and transformation.

Dance, for me, is a generative practice — one that invites curiosity over certainty, and expression over resolution. It 's where I meet myself most honestly, and where clarity and boundless possibility coexist in motion.

And this is why I dance.
